Rotarian of the month, Julia Parranto with President Mark Burchill
ROTARIAN OF THE MONTH
Our Rotarian of the Month has been a member of the club for six years. In that time, she has consistently stepped up to the plate to help whenever and wherever she was asked. In the past, she has chaired the 4-Way Test committee.
She has taken on major responsibility for the Ridership Committee at the GiroBello. Increased ridership is the key to the continued success of the GiroBello.
Just last month she had her hands full organizing the bell-ringing, and, as a one-person committee, took full responsibility to organize and pull off a successful Children’s Christmas Party.
Recently, she agreed to serve as your President for the 2017-2018 Rotary year.
Please join me in honoring our Rotarian of the Month, Julia Parranto!
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Chip Rawson has a hands-on project out at the Laguna de Santa Rosa foundation that he would like to do this Friday. He needs 3-4 people to help.
Cathy Vicini announced the next social will be at her new tasting room on January 16th 5:00 to 7:00. The location is on the corner of 7th and Humboldt streets here in Santa Rosa.

RECOGNITION
Ray Dorfman was the only recognition this week. He sold his company at the end of last year and is now retired. He gave a donation of $50 to both the John Brown fund and the Jack Levar fund.
ROTARY MAGAZINE QUESTION
The late C.R. Snyder defined “what” as the essential process of linking oneself to potential success. (page 25)

Ray Dorfman – Emcee Extraordinaire!
FAMILY TRIVIA!
Once a year we get together, act like a bunch of whiners and play Trivial Pursuit. As much as our perpetual emcee Ray Dorfman pleads, we still act like a bunch of babies.
The rules: No Pissing or Moaning (rule broken immediately!)
Choose a captain. This person is the only one who can announce the group answer
Each team can get one answer wrong. You are out with the second wrong answer.
I won’t go into the details of all the piss-moaning, but there was a lot! The winning team was table 7: Julia Parranto, Greg Johnston, Jeff Gospe, Dan Bornstein, Wayne Rowlands, Robbie Fouts, and Dick Jensen. They all took home $30.
Second place team was table 5: Craig Meltzner, Debi Zaft, Judy Glenn, Rich de Lambert, Jim and Karen Johnson, Dan Schell, Paul Hamilton, Eileen Carlisle, and Jack Tolin.
